Alchemy was the demise of an empire which once thrived due to its power. Once they realized the costs of alchemy, attempts to end the use of it proved futile. After a short time the entire kingdom was in chaos and the streets were plagued with creatures.
The key to understanding all of this is in Corvus’s hands. But the man has lost all his memories.
